Lot Details

Mid-Century West German studio vase by renowned ceramicist Rudi Stahl. Featuring an organic multi stemmed mushroom form above a large bulbous base. Textured clay finish in various earthy tones. Hand signed by the artist himself to the underside along with a model code “7030/14” and “handarbeit” (handmade). 175mm wide by 140mm tall. Weighing 1.34kgs. Excellent vintage order without issue. circa mid century. German ceramist Rudi Stahl started his workshop in höhr grenzhausen, westerwald in 1938 making all pieces by hand. The elder brother of famed potter wendelin stahl, his Japanese influenced work with natural tones of local clay and stoneware belong to the more experimental pieces from that period.
