Lot Details

Large Scandinavian mid-century staved teak ice bucket with fitted matching lid. Tall cylindrical form presenting with beautiful figuring throughout the varying grains of the teak. Inner burnt orange plastic insert to hold ice. All joints are nice and tight with no shrinkage cracks. There is possibly a makers stamp beneath but it is very faint if there at all… That said this bucket has all the hallmarks of a Jens Quistgaard example for Dansk albeit a rarer version than the handled type bucket. The grip on the lid and the colour of the inner sleeve look like classic Dansk. It could also possible originate from a studio such as Nissen or Digsmed, the three firms were closely linked. Measuring 295mm tall by 125mm at the widest diameter. Weighing 1.65kgs. Offered in excellent vintage order with light surface wear only… the inner liner in excellent condition. Circa 1960’s Denmark.
