Lot Details

Mid-century studio potted “hot chocolate” drinking service featuring a hand painted donkey to all pieces. A beautifully tactile set including six cups with cylindrical protruding handle, six matching saucers, one lidded chocolate or coffee pot, a matching sugar basin and finally a milk jug. Originating for the Mediterranean studio of Sanguino-Toledo-pottery… Spain with an obvious similarity to the works of Picasso as well as to master potter Gambone and pieces coming out of Vallauris and southern France at that time. The main pot measures 180mm high with its lid in place. The milk jug measures 120mm high. The sugar basin measures 130mm high with its lid. Excellent vintage order. Circa mid century.
