Lot Details

Mid-century Bay Keramik studio potted vase. A stunning early West German example featuring an unusual “fish scale” design to the entire exterior. Hand painted decoration including a multi toned abstract floral design offset with a bubble filled matte fat lava upper and base. Contrasting beautifully with its bright yellow interior. Single loop handle to one side. Stamped beneath with “W – Germany” and the model code 287 / 25. Note the curly base to the letter y of Germany and the central dash between W and Germany (both indicators of bay pottery) Measuring 250mm tall by 210mm in diameter. Weighing 1.425kgs.
